The adventure begins when Princess Kyanna believes she will finally have her first date with the visiting young king. But things go awry when she is forced to hide in a coffin-sized box on the back of a wagon to escape the threat of Norman invaders. Her hope of taking the long-awaited next step in her destiny—becoming queen—slips away.

As the English nobles will have it, she is not alone on her journey; she travels with Lord Rupert, King Alaric of Germany, and the wise Counselor Osmond, heading to another kingdom. As they navigate the treacherous English countryside, the travelers uncover a more sinister plot unfolding. As they venture through the perils, they find themselves battling their own vulnerabilities. For Kyanna, her personal battles lead her to her Druid heritage, where mystical powers manifest—leaving her to question her foretold destiny.

The Prominent Players

Princess Kyanna

Molded into becoming a proper English Princess, her spirit is not broken, as many assumed it had, for there is more to her than meets the eye. A fiery spirit burns deep within her, a flame she will need to summon her courage to face her challenges. Otherwise, she has no hope of transcending from a princess to her next moral imperative.

Lord Rupert

Rupert, a man of alluring wit and charisma, eagerly awaits to serve his monarchy. However, his love for his dearest friend drives him to embark on a perilous mission, a task that could cost him his life. This task, to thwart a sinister plot, will see him and his companions braving the treachery of a mischievous realm, their every step fraught with danger.

King Alaric

Alaric, a young German King, is dedicated and loyal with a hint of pompousness. His true quest, hidden beneath his regal facade, is to find his new queen. Traversing through a dangerous venture, he strives to connect with his compassionate side, a trait he will need to sharpen in hopes of winning over his heart’s desire.

Druidess Lady Raeven

Many Britons know Raeven as the realm’s greatest healer, shrouded in mystery. Raised by her rebellious grandmother, Edmunda, she learned the ways of the world and how to stay strong in perilous times. But through all her hardships, she still desires to heal the world, conjuring up her forbidden Druid powers.

Queen Vala

At the cost of stopping the King from destroying the last of the Druids, Vala, a Druid priestess, pledges her alliance to the Monarchy and the Church of the Realm when becoming a Queen, forgoing her Druid powers. She has lived through many horrors and harbors many secrets, which strengthen her reign but also sever her ties with her daughter, Princess Kyanna. Her sacrifices weigh down her heart, locking away sadness in her soul.

Counselor Osmond

Osmond, a seasoned advisor to the King of England, is chosen to guide the royals on their escape through the realm. Renowned for his wisdom and no-nonsense demeanor, his peers often nag him to lighten up, a task he takes on with a haphazard approach. In the end, relaxing his principles may become his greatest downfall.

These gathering men are not the threat that roused England’s King into compelling the young nobles to flee the fortified castle, thrusting them into a heart-pounding journey through the medieval English countryside. This threat is more sinister, more clandestine, one that no one within the castle walls perceived.
